If you haven't heard the story about the Mike the brave young calf who escaped a NJ slaughterhouse last week, and found his way to the beautiful Woodstock Farm Animal Sanctuary thanks to volunteer Mike Stura's quick thinking, check out this video. This made me smile. It is great to see the Woodstock Farm Animal Sanctuary make the national news. I saw Mike Jr. on Saturday grazing on the grass in his new home, next to his new barn mate Kayli. I couldn't resist taking a photo of our hero Mike Stura. The farm is open from 11 am-4pm on the weekends now until November. This year you can even stay overnight at the sanctuary at the Guest House. All proceeds of your stay go towards the care of the animals. This would be a perfect weekend idea for vegan couples traveling to the Hudson Valley.
