6 Rainy Day Trip Ideas: Westchester's Indoor Play Spaces
It’s cold. It’s raining. We don’t have any play dates scheduled and I can’t think of anything to do with my kids. So, I take them to an indoor place space to jump, run, climb, play – all the fun they would usually have outside plus much more. I wish we had a place like this in every town in Westchester. So, small business owners, listen up – build them and we will come! Luckily, Westchester has a lot of amazing indoor gyms and here is the scoop on all of them.
FunFuzion in New Roc City is an indoor amusement park for big kids with arcade games, billiards, ping pong, indoor electric go carts (for ages 16 and up), glow in the dark miniature golf, glow in the dark bowling and more. Purchase a Fuze Card for any dollar amount to play the games at FunFuzion. There is no admission fee. 19 LeCount Place, New Rochelle; 914-637-7575
Leaping Lizards in Port Chester consists of a large room filled with mazes, tunnels and slides for crawling, climbing, hiding and seeking for kids ages 1-12. There are two ball pits: one for babies and one for older kids plus a zone for babies to play without getting run over by a energetic six-year-old. A snack bar is the perfect place to eat while watching the action and there are some arcade games, too. Admission is $13.99 plus tax. On Wednesdays, kids under 5 pay $12.99 before 3pm except on holidays. You can also purchase a membership or buy a value- pack. 421 Boston Post Road, Port Chester (Kohl’s Shopping Center); 914-937-5867

The Play Space also offers after school programs, classes, camp and a gym for drop-in play. Cost for the indoor playground: Ages 4 and under $9, 5 and up $11 (January 31 price will go up $1) or you can join for unlimited use for $35 a month for one child and $40 for two kids (12 month contract) or pay $50 without a contract.
