Last week my family and visited a fabulous diner, Alexis Diner, in Newburgh. I came here six years ago, and remember I had a very memorable chicken croquettes, but for some reason I had totally forgotten about this diner over the years. I don’t visit Newburgh that often, but it made for the perfect dinner stop when we traveling to the Hudson Valley from Long Island. The Alexis Diner is located right off exit 10 of I-84, which makes it very convenient.
I love the retro cocktail menu place mats, the large booths, and the retro glam decor. The service was very friendly, and the food came out quickly. The kids had the grill cheese sandwiches on whole wheat, and loved the fries. I ordered a small Greek salad, and a small bowl of the cream of spinach soup. My husband was very happy with his large Greek salad with chicken, saying that it was real grilled chicken not the bland chicken breasts he sometimes gets. The bathrooms were sparkling clean. I love this diner, and we will definitely be returning soon! The Alexis Diner, 5023 Route 9w, Newburgh, NY (845) 565-1400.
