Eveready Diner in Hyde Park, NY
Is it a coincidence that I always seem to find myself here when I'm having a rough day? I came here after my brief visit in the ER last September for a "recovery dinner" of comfort food. I went here yesterday after a grueling visit with the pediatrician. The Eveready Diner is never empty, but I've never had to wait for a table. Kids menu is extra appealing because the burgers, grilled cheese, and hot dogs are served in paper cars. (Kids appreciate that kind of presentation!). For breakfast children can have Mickey Mouse pancakes. They also offer crayons which I always like. I love the omelets and salads. Eveready Diner, Route 9, Hyde Park. NY 12538. (845) 229-8100.
Newsflash: On April 30th another Eveready Diner opened in Brewster. The Brewster location will be open 24 Hours a day, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. It is off exit 19 of I-84, at 90 independent Way, in the Home Depot Plaza, next to Khols.
