Festive Christmas Decor at Liberty Public House in Rhinebeck
Looking for a place to eat and relax on Christmas Eve and/or Christmas Day? Look no further than these fine restaurants in the Hudson Valley.
1) Go to the Dutch Ale House and Brewery in Saugerties if you are in the mood for delicious gastro-pub cuisine and the best beer in the Hudson Valley. They will be open on Christmas Eve.
6) Cucina in Woodstock will be open on Christmas Eve, and will be serving a prix fixe Christmas Day Brunch for $44. I have never been here for brunch, but I have been here twice for dinner. They don't disappoint!
7) Liberty Public House in Rhinebeck will be open on Christmas Eve. My husband and I enjoyed a scrumptuous dinner here last Sunday night.
What a great night to be in Uptown Kingston last night! The Uptown Holiday Open House was a great success. When we arrrived there around 6:30pm there were lots of families walking around checking out all the stores. There were little kids carrying stockings looking for treats.
Live dolls greeted visitors at the Tonner Doll Company. "Oudated" a new antique cafe on Wall Street that sells vintage clothing and lots of retro stuff was packed with coffee drinkers and shoppers. I also stopped by Birch Body Care. (Will write about these places soon!) We walked around and then finished off the night with a delicious dinner at Duo Bistro. Here are a few photos from the Holiday Open House.
2) Frosty Fest will get you into the holiday spirit even if you don't see any snow on the ground. Great family fun and spectacular holiday light displays. I have never tried the Frosty hay ride, but it looks like fun.
3) Saugerties Holiday in the Village 2012 begins at 12 noon on December 2nd will give you the all-American warm and fuzzies. Horsedrawn carriages, raffles, petting zoo, face painting, and characters.
5) Uptown Kingston Holiday Open House will take place on Friday, December 7th starting at 5pm. Free stockings will be given to the first 1,000 people. Weather permitting there will be a holiday parade and fireworks.
6) Woodstock's Holiday Open House will be on Friday, December 7th as well, starting at 5pm with Carolers, ice scuplting, free cookies, and the face-painting by the often forgotten Mrs. Claus.
7) Enjoy hot chocolate and photo opps with Santa Claus at Caitlin Gardens in Slate Hill, NY on December 15th from 9am-11am. Call 845-355-3555 to reserve spots by December 12th. Another fun way to see Santa is to look out for pancake breakfasts with Santa Claus at local firehouses.
8) Don't miss the arrival of Santa Claus in Woodstock on Christmas Eve. Who knows how he'll get here this year? It's always a well kept secret.
