Editor’s NOTE: This pizza place has changed owners, but it still great! (Summer 2015)
Last month my family had a delicious meal at Antonio’s Pizza & Pasta in Langrangeville, near Pawling. It was one of those unplanned serendipitous stops during a road trip along the Taconic Parkway. Antonio’s Pizza & Pasta is on Route 82 in Lagrangeville. We usually take the NY thruway to get to the NYC area. Once in a while we get lucky, just asking the GPS where the closest pizza place is. Antonio’s Pizza has a plain facade, but when I peered in it looked like a warm and inviting pizza place. It was around 2:30pm and we were the only customers. We sat at a small booth, and one of the owners, Antoinette brought us menus.
We are all hungry, so the kids had bowls of the pasta fagioli soup, which they devoured. It was homemade, and much better than the one I try to make at home. I had a bowl of the chicken noodle soup, and ordered our standard pie (half pepperoni and half mushroom). Antoinette really made us feel at home, checking in on us often, and giving us garlic knots, and fancy glasses for our club soda. (Reminded me of eating out in Europe). I would definitely recommend Antonio’s Pizza & Pasta if you are looking for that perfect lunch or dinner close to the Taconic Parkway or if you are in the Pawling area and craving good Italian food.
