Cheese Louise on Route 28 just celebrated their 2 year anniversary. I can't believe it has been 2 years already. I first blogged about them a few months after they opened. We decided to have lunch there today to see what's new at the store. I love taking photos of French butter and cheese.
They have a good selection of gourmet take-out food, smoked salmon, sausages, and of course, lots of great local and imported cheeses. There is only one table for eating in so most people just take out. We ate at the table though. Everything is a la carte. Everything looked good, but I had the stuffed acorn squash, fish cake, and beet salad. Tom had the breaded chicken cutlet, frittata, and the whitefish. (The whitefish was really good!)
It was all delicious. They are planning to add a gift section to the store soon to get ready for the holidays. You will get great customer service. Rick, the owner, prides himself on remembering a customer's name and wishlist. Don't tell Rick that he looks like actor Donald Sutherland. He says he gets that comment every week! Cheese Louise, 940 Route 28, Kingston, NY (845) 853-8207.
