We had a delicious Mexican dinner at Armadillo Bar & Grill restaurant on Abeel Street in Kingston last night. Although I know a few people who go here regularly for Sangrias, I had never eaten here before. I knew the Sangria was going to be good so I ordered one right away. A server gave us chips and homemade salsa soon after. The owner came by with crayons and a kids menu for my daughter who loved the kids cheese quesadilla. I started with the Charred Ahi Taquito, which was very good, though it was not what I had imagined. Tom had the Southwestern Caesar Salad for an appetizer.
For the entree, I had the vegetarian bean burrito with jack cheese, avocado and salsa verde. They have a good selection of vegetarian dishes here too, by the way. Tom had the Enchiladas de Pollo. Between big bites he kept on saying, "Wow! This is really authentic." The Armadillo Bar & Grill is perfect for a girls night out in Kingston or a family get together. The outdoor patio is great for kids. We didn't have room for dessert, but the Fried Ice Cream was very tempting. Next time I go, I will order the fish tacos though. I saw plate being served to the large family group next to me, and they looked outrageous. Have you ever dined here? What did you get?
