I rarely shop for myself, but last week I realized I didn't really have anything nice to wear for a photo shoot so I finally checked out DIG boutique in Saugerties to see what I could find. It is a beautiful boutique. It kind of reminded of a shop you would find in Greenwich village, with high quality funky clothes. I can see how a girl can get carried away shopping here. There is a wide selection of Karina dresses, and I found a Betsy Johnson coat that was on sale too. (Follow them on Facebook if you want to know about trunk shows and other special events).
I tried on about 5 shirts, all of which I loved, but just bought one. It is a gorgeous black long sleeve cotton shirt by Nally & Millie. (I found a few good deals on the sales rack for shirts in the $20 range, but I really fell in love with a shirt by Nally & Millie which was for sale for $67. I only pay this much for a shirt if I really love it. I know I will get great use out of it so it is worth it. Shopping local and buying high-quality clothes that are Made in America always gives me a happiness boost.
Van Bolle, one of the owners, showed me around the new men's section, which formerly housed Cafe Tamayo. Lots of cool T-shirts and hip men's clothing here as you can see from the photos. DIG also sells cool houseware and Art of Tea so you can find that perfect host gift or shower gift here too. DIG, 89 Partition Street, Saugerties, NY 12477. (845) 246-3833.
