I have been so obsessed with The Weather Channel and Hudson Valley Weather's Facebook page this week that my husband says I could have a second career as a weather girl (or should I say meteorologist)? Thursday, I went to Home Depot in Kingston to buy a new flashlight and stock up on batteries. It wasn't very crowded. Today, I stocked up on feel-good junk food, pudding, tuna, and Cheerios at Hannafords. There is a buzz of worry in the air in the Hudson Valley, but most locals I've been speaking to feel like things will get back to normal by Tuesday. My biggest worry is the downed trees. I'm so glad I didn't throw away two old Sony Walkmans I had. I just put fresh batteries in them, plugged in my iPhone earphones and presto--2 working radios!
Well, here are a few good articles on Hurricane Preparedness I found via my new Twitter friends @HudsonValleyWx (Alex Marra) and @njpanyweather (Steve Martino). Follow these weather experts for up-to-date info on the storm.
That's it for now. I will probably lose power soon. Hang tough Hudson Valley. Stay home. Be safe! I will blog again when the sun comes out!
